Why are the dresses on the show "Jersey Couture" so overpriced and ugly?

Okay, as much as I don't want to admit it, I love reality television and I kinda love to watch the new shows about Jersey, like Jerseylicious and Jersey Couture, as well as Jersey Shore, despite what people might say about these shows. Anyways, I'm watching Jersey Couture right now and I have always wondered, why are the dresses so hideous? I mean, there are a few dresses that are pretty but I didn't see one that was worth the price that they are. I mean, five hundred something or an "Aquarium dress"? Get real! I don't know about anyone else, but I was just wondering what other people's opinions are on this: Why are these dresses so ugly and over priced?!
