Any dentists/ hygienists out there please?

hi! i have a slight niggling pain in my left lower 4-it only hurts when i chew food on it. thing is i had the dentist last week but it wasn't hurting on that day so i forgot to mention it! Surely if there was something wrong the dentist would have noticed right????? i am 27 and have never had ANYTHING done to my teeth other than check ups so i would be petrified if i needed treatment!!!! do you think its ok??
