Does watering plants with warm water make them die?

i have a Sturdy Davallia or Davallia Solida and it says in http://www.plantcare.com/encyclopedia/sturdy-davallia-383.aspx you have to water it with warm water and my grandmother said if i watered it with warm water it will die
