USPS Mailing/Shipping Question ?

i bought a video game on amazon.com, the seller shipped the item from Upstate NY, and i live in the New York City. However the game first went Minnesota before it came to me. Can anyone explain why dis happened, otherwise i could've got the package next day. It took 4 days to come to me ?
