Should I let him go??? so confused.?

There's this guy i've known since primary school. And his been "involved" with a few of my friends so we have each others number. Anyway I really like him, We text for hours at a time, about everything going on each other's lifes and random stuff, his really sweet he tells me he loves me and I'm awesome. And sometimes we flirt. He says really cute stuff like when he liked how I did my hair one day and I look amazing whether i wear make up or not lol. At school and on the bus he barely breaths a word to me, I'm not going to lie i am very shy but i do make the effort to talk to him and he kinda blanks at me. I asked him and he said he was shy/afraid its so frustrating! he is what'd you call the guy that gets along with everyone like me but he talks to the other girls that are his friends. I can't help but think he wants nothing to do with me =( Help i'm 14 btw.
