Hysterectomy Weight Gain, and Hormone Replacement ..to take or not to take!?

I recently had a hysterectomy back in June, I am 38 and have gained ton of weight. For the first 5 months I was on hormone replacement, I heard you gain weight from being on that, so I took myself off of that a month ago. Since then I am still gaining weight and its very depressing...should I go back on hormone replacement or NO!. I have gained 35 lbs since June. Someone please help me!
